ALL SAINTS PARISH COUNCIL
The Parish Council is the committee that makes decisions regarding the operation of the parish. Meetings are held the second Sunday of each month and are open to everyone, although only elected council members are allowed to vote. Anyone interested in becoming a council member, contact the nominating committee chairperson or Father Ruda to be submitted for a vote at the annual parish meeting.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
All Saints has a very active Sunday School program, with classes for children ages 3 through 16. Lessons are biblical, family, and socially related, and there is usually a related craft project for the lessons. Music (singing) is a vital part of the weekly programs, also. The students present a Sunday School Closing program at the end of their school year.
MEN'S SOCIETY
The men's society is the sponsor of our youth programs and special events for the parish. The men meet every third Sunday following Mass, and all men of the parish are invited to join.
WOMEN'S SOCIETY
The Women's Society meets quarterly, and all women of the parish are invited to join. The society cares for the altars and church decorations and funds necessary rectory supplies. They also sponsor and Advent Brunch in December for all parish members. They conduct special collections for Easter and Christmas flowers. Their primary source of funds is from bake sales.
Altar Servers (Acolytes)
Children from ages seven through sixteen, both girls and boys, may be altar servers. They must complete a training program conducted by the pastor, then serve an apprenticeship for an appropriate amount of time. Funding for their supplies (robes, etc.) is through the annual Christmas special collection and individual donations.
CHOIR
Music is a vital part of our worship services. The adult choir rehearses every Thursday at 6:45 PM. Each choir member has their own robe and is required to wear it for Masses and concerts, except during especially warm weather.
Music is a mixture of contemporary and traditional anthems and hymns, and are easy to learn. The Music Director is constantly reviewing music and attending music workshops to find new appropriate songs for the various church seasons.
There are also "fringe benefits", such as a great view, padded chairs, monthly birthday parties, and holiday celebrations.
The choir is always happy to have new members. If you're interested in singing along with the group, just come to a weekly rehearsal or contact the music director. You don't have to know how to read music; everyone will help you.
Presently, we are collecting funds for a new Allen Organ and hope to have it installed for Christmas 2007.
